Meet Our Leaders
Connie Longwell, Chief Executive Officer
Connie possesses more than 18 years of experience in healthcare. Connie began her career at Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital (EVRH) in 2016 as the chief financial officer. In 2019, she was promoted to her current role as chief executive officer. She is responsible for the leadership, business operations, and management of the day-to-day functions of our hospital. Connie’s passionate about ensuring that patients in Wyoming and surrounding areas have access to high-quality, safe, and effective inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services that meet their individual needs. Her attention to detail, experience in finance, accounting, and management, has given her the background she needs to lead our hospital.
Connie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY, and a master’s degree in business administration with a healthcare concentration from the University of Phoenix.
Connie is a Wyoming native and excited to lead the EVRH team.
Dr. Ryan Swan, Inpatient Medical Director
Dr. Swan has always had a passion not only to serve others, but to lead teams that protect and heal those around him. His extensive medical background includes internships at National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. as well as a residency at Loyola University in Chicago.
A stint in military medicine included time as a surgeon on 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Okinawa, Japan, and as surgeon on the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron. It culminated in an Honorable Marine discharge in 2000.
Dr. Swan earned a medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He has been board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation for more than 16 years.
Dr. Swan enjoys leading the treatment team in delivering a personalized and progressive rehabilitation program.
Dr. Carlos Buckner, Outpatient Medical Director
Dr. Buckner loves reaching out into the community where he can forge relationships with patients, field staff, and young people. His extensive medical background includes a residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he served as chief resident.
Board Certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation since 2012, Dr. Buckner is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, and his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
In his free time, Dr. Buckner serves his community as a youth leader in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints and as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.
Carrie Clark, Director of Therapy Operations
Carrie is committed to life-long learning and encouraging quality, state-of-the-art, and patient-centered therapeutic services for everyone who walks through our doors. She specializes in geriatric care and myofascial release, and has dedicated thousands of treatment hours to help her patients reach their goals. Her responsibility is to oversee inpatient and outpatient therapy operations.
Carrie earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota satellite program in Casper, WY. She has spent the past 20 years gaining experience in long-term acute care, inpatient rehab, home health, and acute care services.
Born and raised in Casper, Carrie returned to work as a staff therapist, was promoted to lead therapist, and now serves EVRH as the director of therapy operations. She is proud of her Wyoming roots and excited for her new role in supporting the success of our therapists and our patients. She prides herself in her mentorship abilities and has given back to the OT field by mentoring new graduates and students throughout the years.
Carrie loves helping others and is committed to our therapy department to make sure your loved ones are in the best hands possible.
Nikki Amelotte, Director of Nursing
Nikki has been a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse for 14 years with focused experience in an acute rehab setting. Originally from the Sooner State, she earned her B.S. in Psychology from The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. After relocating to Casper, WY, she earned her Nursing degree from Casper College and since has adopted Casper as her second home.
Nikki began her career at Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital as an RN 13 years ago. Nikki believes using our Guiding Principles to develop a positive rapport with our patients and their families is the key to a successful discharge home. In early 2021, she was promoted to lead our nursing department as the Director of Nursing.
When not at EVRH, you will find Nikki hiking, camping, and trail running around our beautiful local mountains with her family of seven and their two big dogs.
Sandy Baird Stober, Director of Patient Outcomes.
Sandy has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and has been with EVRH as Director of Patient Outcomes, which includes oversight of Case Management, since the opening of the hospital in 2008. She spent five of those years serving as the National Director of Patient Outcomes for which she provided support and education for all Ernest Health rehabilitation hospitals.
Sandy is passionate about ensuring our patients get quality care, that is effective, efficient, timely, safe, and patient-centered.
Dan Davis, Director of Pharmacy Operations
Dan is passionate about the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care to our patients.
Dan has been in the pharmacy field for more than 17 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., followed by a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Wyoming in 2003.
Dan serves as a pharmacy preceptor for the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy, as well as adjunct faculty for the School of Pharmacy for a three-year term.
Tera Brown, Director of Compliance
Tera has been a registered nurse for 20 years, with experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, and acute rehab settings. She received her BSN from South Dakota State University in 2010. While completing her degree, Tera returned home to Wyoming in 2009 to be closer to her family.
A compassionate clinician, Tera always strives for the best possible outcome and hospital experience for our patients. When serving as a clinical liaison for ten years, Tera would drive throughout Wyoming and neighboring states to educate healthcare professionals and patients alike on the services and benefits of acute inpatient rehabilitation.
In her free time, you will find Tera wandering the mountains, lakes, and trails of our beautiful state.
Jeff Rowe, Director of Facilities Management
Jeff has been a resident of Wyoming for 37 years. He earned his degree in Diesel Technology from WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming, and has enjoyed 30+ years of business and people management ever since. Jeff has a background in HSE management and mechanical applications and maintenance. He is an active professional member of ASHE. Jeff and his team work long hours to maintain the integrity of our hospital and to combat the wild Wyoming weather.
Viki Kincaid, Human Resources Manager
Viki has been in Humans Resources for over ten years and joined Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in 2021. She is passionate about employee engagement and retention. Viki believes in treating our employees and patients with dignity and respect. She concentrates on making EVRH the place employees want to come to work every day.
In her spare time, Viki likes to ride motorcycles, golf, camp, and spend time with her family.
