Meet Our Leaders

 

Connie Longwell, Chief Executive Officer
Connie possesses more than 15 years of experience in healthcare.  Connie joined EVRH’s team in 2016 as the Chief Financial Officer.  Today, she is responsible for the leadership, business operations, and management of the hospital.  Connie’s passionate about ensuring that patients in Wyoming have access to high-quality, safe and effective inpatient rehabilitation services that meet their individual needs.  Her attention to detail, experience in finance, accounting, and management, has given her the background she needs to lead our hospital.

Connie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., and a master’s degree in business administration with a healthcare concentration from the University of Phoenix. She currently is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Born and raised in Wyoming, Connie enjoys being outdoors, enjoying summer sports, and spending time with family and friends.  When not working, Connie volunteers her time as the treasurer for the Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association.

Connie is excited to be part of the EVRH team and Casper community.

 

Dr. Ryan Swan, Inpatient Medical Director
Dr. Swan has always had a passion not only to serve others, but to lead teams that protect and heal those around him. His extensive medical background includes internships at National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. as well as a residency at Loyola University in Chicago.

A stint in military medicine included time as a surgeon on 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Okinawa, Japan and as surgeon on the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron. It culminated in an Honorable Marine discharge in 2000.

Dr. Swan earned a medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He has been board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation for more than 10 years.

Dr. Swan enjoys leading the treatment team in delivering a personalized and progressive rehabilitation program.

 

Dr. Carlos Buckner, Outpatient Medical Director
Dr. Buckner loves reaching out into the community where he can forge relationships with patients, field staff and young people. His extensive medical background includes a residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he served as chief resident.

Board Certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation since 2012, Dr. Buckner is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, and his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

In his free time, Dr. Buckner serves his community as a youth leader in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints and as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.

 

Tabitha Wiebe, Director of Human Resources
Tabitha is passionate about serving the employees who care for our patients by enable and equipping them to be passionate caregivers. She is committed to assisting employees succeed in their chosen career fields by teaming with them to accomplish their goals.

Tabitha is a Wyoming native, being born and raised in the local area. She ventured out of the state for a brief time to complete her Bachelor’s Degree at Colorado Christian University in Denver before returning to Wyoming. She has been serving the medical field in Casper since 2015.

Tabitha is a member of the local SHRM chapter, supporting HR professionals throughout the community.

 

Sandy Baird Stober, Director of Patient Outcomes.
Sandy has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years and has been with EVRH as Director of Patient Outcomes, which includes oversight of Case Management, since the opening of the hospital in 2008.  She spent five of those years serving as the National Director of Patient Outcomes for which she provided support and education for all Ernest Health rehabilitation hospitals.

Sandy is passionate about ensuring our patients get quality care, that is effective, efficient, timely, safe, and patient-centered.

 

Dan Davis, Director of Pharmacy Operations
Dan is passionate about the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Dan has been in the pharmacy field for more than 12 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., followed by a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Wyoming in 2003.

Dan serves as a pharmacy preceptor for the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy, as well as adjunct faculty for the School of Pharmacy for a three-year term.

 

Tanya Jernigan, Director of Therapy Operations
Tanya’s passion is both for therapy and for teaching. With 13 years of experience, mostly in acute rehabilitation, Tanya specializes in patients with strokes, amputations and spinal cord injuries.

Tanya earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas, before securing her master’s degree in physical therapy from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas. Tanya recently completed her transitional doctorate in physical therapy in from Regis University in Denver.

Tanya brings her excitement and skill for therapy and education to the community through service as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and in education for the local spinal cord injury support group.

 

Angela Johnston, Director of Compliance
Angela brings the hospital more than 17 years of experience in healthcare, including interventional radiology, emergency department, dialysis, case management and intake coordination for an inpatient psychiatric unit. In 2010, Angela joined the Ernest Health team at Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital as a clinical liaison before assuming her current role.

Angela earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, N.C. Bringing her considerable experience and education to the community, Angela volunteers on the Public Health Community Medical Workgroup at the Natrona County Public Health Department.

 

Michele Luckow, Director of Nursing Operations
Michele was one of the first team members to help open our hospital back in 2007, accepting the new challenge of rehabilitation nurse manager. In 2013, she accepted the opportunity to become the director of nursing.

With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare including rehabilitation, ANCC- board certified medical/surgical and operating room, Michele directs our nursing operations to ensure the best care possible for our patients.   It is her personal mission to make EVRH the premier healthcare facility destination for patients and clinical staff by infusing the Ernest Health culture into the community.

Michele is a certified rehabilitation registered nurse. She earned her nursing degree from Casper College in 1995. She is a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.
Michele enjoys volunteering at the Annual Stride out Stroke event sponsored by the hospital. Other activities include coordinating with the local community spinal cord support group and attending the Advisory Board of the H.W. Stuckenhoff Department of Nursing at Casper College.

 

Anne Thorpen, Director of Marketing & Business Development
Anne is a Wyoming native, born and raised in Casper – home of Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital. She is proud of the services the hospital provides to the people of her community and all throughout Wyoming. With enthusiasm for bringing the best of service and care to those around her, Anne has spent 19 years in healthcare including pharmaceutical sales and management.

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., Anne has devoted her career to serving others. Today, she continues that legacy of service as a member of Wyoming Medical Center Stroke Steering Committee and as a facilitator for the local stroke support group. Anne also spearheads the hospital’s Annual Stride out Stroke 5k Run/Walk and enjoys the growth and participation each year brings.
